June Poem

Image
Mending A Broken Mind Wrapped in a layer of bandages being held together by the strength of will and hope. Slowly these cracks and bruises begin to mend and heal by the strands of time. Medicated by the days of good with love and happiness. Until one day the cracks begin to crumble under the pressure of the darkness and self-loathing. The bandages can only do so much for so long. The pressure increases and so do the dark thoughts. Strips of fabric begin to fail and the darkness creeps in taking over the defenseless wounds. This fragile structure slowly crumbles and begins to lose the long and tiring fight. The strips are worn and torn to pieces… leaving behind a broken mind.

May Poem

Golden Wings People think they know you… but they don’t. They don’t see what happens behind closed doors. This is the place of sorrow and hopelessness. People think they can see right into your soul… but they can’t. They don’t see the darkness that invades the soul, that eats you up inside till there is nothing left. People see us as good people… but inside we are fighting a battle that we feel cannot be won. Some show their golden wings as a prized possession. While we keep ours hidden so they don’t see the scars that we bear. The feathers that lay tattered and the ones lost but never to be forgotten. While others thrive and remain hopeful… we remain in the shadows. Fearing that if someone were to see our scars and our hollow souls, they would stray away…
